4WTrek - Yankee Gulches (Moderate-Difficult)

Join us for a fun and challenging day on several of the more difficult offshoots of one of Colorado's iconic trails - Yankee Hill! We will start the day driving through Black Hawk and Central City - one of Colorado's most important gold rush towns from 1859 - and see some historic buildings and several of the 11 nearby 1800s cemeteries. I will provide some driving tips, talk about airing down, cover some 4WD basics, and we;ll warm up on some easy 4WD trail before we hit some fun but challenging terrain. We will drive several of the gulches that are offshoots from the Yankee Hill trail - all are moderate-difficult and will require careful line selection, spotting, slow-smooth throttle control, and the occasional use of 4WD traction aids - how many we get to will depend on how the day goes and how we're all feeling as we progre…
