Hybrid Driving & Recovery

This class will cover key off-highway driving fundamentals - a good foundation for new off-roaders and a good refresher for experienced drivers - and common recovery scenarios. $100 for one vehicle and driver $50 per additional passenger Youth under age 18 free

About the event
We will spend the day (8 hours) in and out of our vehicles covering the following topics:
- Trail prep & planning
- Vehicle Inspections
- Caravan & Trail Etiquette
- Communications
- Safe driving practices
- Seating position and visibility, steering and hand position
- Tire Tech and Field Tire Repair
- 4WD vehicle systems and capabilities
- Traversing a variety of terraing and obstacles
- Spotting techniques and communication
- Hi Lift Jack use
- Winch Use
- Common Recovery Scenarios
If you are driving on trail your vehicle must meet the following minimum requirements:
- 4WD with low range
- 33" tires and full size matching spare
- Frame mounted recovery points front and rear
- Sliders
- Engine and transmission skid plates
We will be driving on a variety of terrain so you can experience you and your vehicle's capabilities, and perhaps some limitations! You will not be required to traverse anything you are uncomfortable with, but are encouraged to try out a few things for the experience. We will provide instruction, direction, advise, and spotting through difficult terrain, and you will have the opportunity to do the same for your fellow students.
