This class will cover recovery fundamentals - gear selection and evaluation, Hi Lift Jack use, winch operation, and basic rigging techniques. $125 for one vehicle and driver $50 per additional passenger Youth under age 18 free

About the event
Getting stuck isn't usually p[art of the plan for any 4WD trip, but it happens. Prepare yourself for the inevitable by learning:
- How to approach a recovery scene safely
- Stuck assessment
- Calculate loads and apply basic rigging to recover using a winch
- Evaluate and select gear based on industry best practices
- How to safely and effectively operate a winch
- Learn several of the ways the Hi Lift may be used safely and effectively
- Several methods to apply mechanical advantage
- Adjust line lengths with an Xlock and other line locks
This class is a combination of lecture and hands-on training. All recovery gear is provided, but participants are encouraged to bring any gear they have questions about. We will be driving on a mild 4WD trail to a couple of different training sites.
Vehicle requirements:
- 4WD with low range
- 32" tires and full size matching spare
- Frame mounted recovery points front and rear
