Welcome to the San Juans and some of the most beautiful high country in Colorado. If you are new to the off-road community or the Colorado high country and want to explore in a 4WD vehicle this class will get you started on the right path and ready to tackle trails for the rest of the week!

About the event
Participants in this class will drive away with a basic understanding of the following topics:
- Safe driving practices
- Trail etiquette
- Seating position and visibility, steering and hand position
- Spotting techniques and communication
- Environment + Driver Skill + Vehicle Capability
- Ascending, descending, off-camber driving
- Rock obstacles, water crossings, hairpin turns, shelf roads
- 4WD vehicle systems and capabilities
- Tires (type, load range, pressure)
This course will use a combination of lecture and practical skills demonstration driving your vehicle on a 4WD trail.
Minimum Vehicle Requirements:
- High clearance vehicle with 4WD and low range
- 32" tires and a full size matching spare
- Recovery points front and rear
